The positioning device for a spiral spring (T) used in a car suspension system comprises a cup (C) whose case (1) has a transverse wedge (11) against which the end winding (S) of the spring rests. A lateral skirt (12) fits inside the spring. A ball bearing (B) is fitted between a rim (13) at the top of the cup and a mounting (E) on the chassis and a cap (2) is mounted on this.
