发明名称 POLYMER DISPERSED LIQUID CRYSTAL HAVING HIGH LUMINANCE AND HIGH CONTRAST RATIO
摘要 PURPOSE: A PDLC(Polymer Dispersed Liquid Crystal) having high luminance and high contrast ratio is provided to promote driving at lower fed voltage by adding Azo-color to PDLC, and to obtain clear images when the PDLC is applied for a display by improving transmissivity and lowering a dispersing rate remarkably. CONSTITUTION: LC of TL203 is mixed with a UV(Ultra Violet) curing monomer of PN393 at a mixing rate of 8 to 2. A test piece containing about 0.7% of methyl orange dye including Azo group is injected into an LC test piece having thickness of 10 micrometers at a temperature of higher than about 40deg.C. The LC test piece is exposed to UV rays for about 10min to be hardened. Micro-LC bubbles are formed on the polymer net. LC is aligned by using a circular polarizer. All of LC molecules near the surface of the LC bubbles are aligned in the arrangement direction of the Azo-dye. The Azo-dye does not absorb beam having wavelength longer than 632nm. Thereby, He-Ne laser is selectively used as a probe beam. The He-Ne laser is emitted to the test piece film as the probe beam. The laser beam reaches a detected at the rear of a sample by transmitting the sample. The amount of laser beam is detected by the same kind of detectors. The amount of laser beam detected from both detectors is compared with reference value of a computer.
