PURPOSE: A system and method for providing a value-added network service using the Internet is provided to reduce expenses for installation by providing an iVAS capable of connecting client web servers on line, and by constructing the VAN. CONSTITUTION: A value-added network system(100) includes a web server(110) which connects to web servers of businesses or government offices through the Internet, an iVAS(Internet Value-Added Service) adapter(120) which is equipped with a SOAP(Simple Object Access Protocol) module, an XML(eXtensible Markup Language) document making module, an encoding/decoding module, an authentication institution connection module and a transmission/reception module, a messaging delivery(130) which generates a transmitting message, a transmission/reception database(140) stores a state of transmission after the message is generated, a customer agreement database(150) which stores information on agreements of customers, a service information database(160) which stores information for managing documents, a message form database(170) which stores information on forms of messages and a data conversion rule database(180) which stores information on data conversion rules.
