PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a rice washing container which is capable of hygienically and effectively washing rice without directly washing the rice by hands and without useless consumption of water and the rice. SOLUTION: This washing container has a container body 1 of an upwardly open blind cylindrical shape, a first lid member 2 which is mounted in the opening of the container body 1 and is pierced with plural water flow holes 10 and a second lid member 3 which closes the respective water flow holes 10 of the first lid member 2. The sizes of the water flow holes 10 of the first lid member 2 are set at the sizes to prohibit the outflow of the rice put into the container body 1 in the state of mounting the first lid member 2 to the container body 1, by which a user is enabled to put the water and the rice into the container body 1, to wash the rice in the container body 1 by vertically and laterally shaking the container body 1 in the state of mounting both lid members 1 and 2 and to discard the water in which the rice is washed while the first lid member 1 is held mounted and therefore the need for directly washing the rice with the hands is eliminated and the discarding of the water in which the rice is washed is facilitated.
