SOLUTION: This sliding member consisting of a base material layered with a metallized sliding film having a metal matrix of a base metal, is characterized in that the metal matrix of the metallized sliding film contains steel-based metallizing particles consisting of a carbon steel or an alloy steel as a base metal with Vickers hardness of 400 or higher, and contains bronze-based metallizing particles consisting of a bronze as a base metal including Sn of 15% or less by weight ratio, and that the ratio of the area occupied with the steel based meallizing particles to the total area of the metal matrix is fixed to be 30-70% and the remainder is the area substantially occupied with bronze- based metallizing particles.
