PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a cleaning method and device which are capable of uniformly supplying nutrient materials, oxygen and moisture to the entire part of contaminated soil. SOLUTION: The contaminated soil 1 is fed into a contaminated soil cleaning vessel 10 and washing water 4 in which the nutrient materials of contaminant degradation bacteria are included is injected into the cleaning vessel 10 by an injector 21, by which the contaminated soil 1 is submerged. The contaminants 2 having the specific gravity smaller than the specific gravity of the washing water 4 are separated from the surface of the washing water 4 and the washing water 4 is made to flow out by a draining device 27 after the separation of the contaminants 2 and the air is admitted into the contaminated soil 1. The contaminants 2 in the contaminated soil 1 are degraded by the degradation bacterial in the presence of the advancing air and the injected nutrient materials, by which the contaminated soil 1 is cleaned. More preferably, the process from the injection of the washing water 4 to the outflow is iterated according to the decrease of the advancing air or the injected nutrient materials.
