Coding marks (4) of optically readable coding pattern (3) are arranged across surface (2) of paper (1). Pattern is divided into overlapping partial areas (5a,5b) based on cyclic rotation of number sequence of marks. Surface (2) is divided into code windows, based on dimensions of partial surfaces.
