An on-demand publishing system comprising a database for storing therein a number of printing materials and processing means for calling a material from the database in response to an order of a requester, laying out the material, and converting the laid-out printing material into printing data so that the text may be printed according to the output of the processing means. This text and a cover separately printed are bound to a print.
