PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a switching element drive circuit that can reduce a turn-off time of a switching element while keeping the rate of change in a drain current per unit time un changed and ensuring the safety of a voltage controlled switching element. SOLUTION: A gate resistor consisting of a 1st resistor with a prescribed resistance and a gate resistance switching circuit connected in parallel with the 1st resistor is connected in series with a gate of a switching element. The gate resistance switching circuit discharges charges stored in a gate-source capacitance CGS in cooperation with the 1st resistor when a gate-source voltage VGS of the switching element is a prescribed voltage or over. |
