PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve such a problem that an original sentence can not be edited or conditions can not be set while using data used for translation in the past when terminal equipment requests a translation device to perform translation. SOLUTION: The translation device for performing translation on the basis of translation data, which are received from the terminal equipment having a display part through a network, to be used for translation, is provided with a translation data receiving part for receiving the translation data from the terminal equipment, a storage part for storing a plurality of translation data received from a plurality of terminal equipment, a reference data receiving part for receiving reference data for specifying the translation data from the terminal equipment, a retrieval part for retrieving the translation data while referring to the reference data in the storage part, a processing part for preparing a display picture containing the translation data while using the retrieved translation data, and a display picture transmitting part for transmitting the prepared display picture to the terminal equipment.
