CONTROL METHOD IN MOBILE TELECOMMUNICATION, CELLULAR SYSTEM, MOBILE STATION, BASE STATION AND BASE STATION CONTROL EQUIPMENT

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce the interference by a downlink and to increase the line capacity by reducing the number of base stations for transmitting signals and by enabling a base station which has the best receiving quality to transmit the signal when a mobile station is connected to plural base stations while it is in hand over. SOLUTION: The mobile station measures a pilot signal from the base station periodically by a receiver monitor 406 and estimates its traveling speed by a speed estimation equipment 407 with a predetermined time interval based on the strength of the pilot signal in soft handover. Depending on the traveling speed, the time length to measure the pilot signal sent by the base station and the internal threshold to determine the transmitting base station during the handover are changed by a controller 408. In that case, the time length for measuring the pilot signal is set shorter and the internal threshold is set lower when when running at a slow speed the traveling speed is low, or the time length is set longer and the threshold is set higher when the traveling speed is high.
