PURPOSE: A circuit of correcting video signal characteristic of an image display device is provided to offer high picture quality to a user when the user wants to selectively display characters or graphics. CONSTITUTION: A circuit of correcting video signal characteristic of an image display device includes a video amplifier(20), a correction unit(30), a key input unit(40), a controller(50), and a correction selector(60). The video amplifier amplifies an external video signal to provide the amplified signal to the cathode of a cathode ray tube. The correction unit is located between the video amplifier and the cathode to correct characteristic of the video signal output from the video amplifier and provides the corrected video signal to the cathode. The key input unit includes a correction select key. The controller outputs a switching control signal when the correction select key is inputted. The correction selector switches on/off according to the switching control signal to select the quantity of correction of the correction unit.
