The frame for a child push chair has an adjustable backrest frame which is rotatable with respect to the chassis. A release control is vertically movable on the backrest and is connected via a push rod (41) and connector block (43) with a pair of cables (44) which operate a pair of catches which selectively latch the backrest in position.
