PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for detecting a digital watermarking from an image after an original image embedding the digital watermarking is locally deformed. SOLUTION: Image information embedding a watermarking image which is locally deformed, at least any one of an original image and the watermarking image, and setting information are input (S101). The original image or watermarking image is divided into a predetermined patch size set by the setting information (S102), and when a region which has locally been deformed in correspondence to each divided patch is searched, and an affine parameter of a neighboring patch is changed little by little, and the obtained region is set as a latch candidate. If the patch candidate has the digital watermarking, this patch is deemed to be a corresponding region after being locally deformed, and also the detected digital watermarking information is output to a digital watermarking extraction part 11.
