SYNTHESIS OF HIGH QUALITY NORMAL ALPHA OLEFINS

Processes for converting linear hydrocarbon into normal alpha olefins ("NAOs"). The process comprises a sequence of controlled dehydrogenation followed by ethenolysis. The process is especially applicable to upgrade linear hydrocarbons such as produced by Fischer-Tropsch type processes. A process for converting C1-C3 alkanes into NAOs and an integrated process including hydrocracking are also disclosed.
