PURPOSE: A manufacturing method of an IPS-LCD(In Plane Field Switching mode Liquid Crystal Display) is provided to prevent color shift in intermediate gray scale states by twisting LC molecules symmetrically at 90 degrees. CONSTITUTION: The counter electrode(20) includes a first electrode(20a) of square frame type and a second electrode(20b) extended parallel with an X axis to divide the first electrode to two parts. The first electrode is divided into first and second areas(B1,B2). The counter electrode additionally includes at least one and more third electrodes(20c) parallel with a Y axis for dividing the first area in a Y direction, and at least one and more fourth electrodes(20d) parallel with an X axis for dividing the second area in an X direction. The counter electrodes are formed in loop type to prevent signal distortion from near data bus lines. Pixel electrodes(25) are overlapped over the counter electrodes. An insulating film is formed on the surface of the counter electrode, and the pixel electrode is formed thereon. The pixel electrode is formed by Mo/Al/Mo or MoW. The pixel electrode includes first branches(25a) arranged at both sides of the third electrode, second branches(25b) between the fourth electrodes, third branches(25c) connecting the first branches with the second branches, fourth branches(25d) connecting sides of the first branches, and fifth branches(25e) connecting sides of the second branches. The third to fifth branches are overlapped with the counter electrodes to generate storage capacitance. The counter electrodes and the pixel electrodes are arranged to form two directions of symmetric electric fields in a single pixel, and a single unit pixel area is aligned in two directions.
