A support system for a conveyor comprising an overhead monorail (1) of substantially closed form cross section pipe (14); carriages (10) adapted to pass up and down the rail (1) on wheels (17, 18) bearing on the rail (1); hanging frames (4) suspended from the carriages (10) having guide and support rollers (3, 7, 9) beneath their point of attachment with the carriages (10); the guide and support rollers (3, 7, 9) carrying and guiding an endless conveyor (5); the carriages (10) and associated frames (4) being slideable longitudinally along the rail (1) on such wheels (17, 18) so as to increase or decrease the spacing between adjacent frames (4) and hence the length of the conveyor (5); flanges or other attachment points on the rail (1) to facilitate attachment of the rail to an overhead support; the overall length of the rail (1) and hence conveyor (5) being adjustable by adding or removing lengths of rail (1).
