PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an ammonia-free phenol resin molding material with maintained high mechanical strength, good electric insulation property and excellent sliding property. SOLUTION: This phenol resin molding material contains (A) resol resin of 30-50 pts.wt., (B) novolac resin of 5-15 pts.wt., and (C) earthy graphite powder of 0.1-40 pts.wt., based on total weight of molding material, which are essential component. In the material, (A) resol resin is methylene-bonding resol resin and/or dimethylene ether-bonding resol resin, and number-average molecular weight of (B) novolac resin is 1000-1500.
