摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a waveguide module without an adhesive and an index matching agent at the connection part between its optical waveguide and optical fiber, maintaining the reliability of the connection part even when it transmits a high-powered light, able to be manufactured at a low cost, having excellent environmental resistance and being integrated its optical waveguide in a high density. SOLUTION: The optical waveguide module 1 whose optical waveguide component 2, to which a connection auxiliary member 3 is attached at the end of its optical waveguide chip 2a, is connected with at least one of aligning member 6, which is obtained by attaching an connecting member 6 having connecting interchangeability with the connection auxiliary member 3 to at least one of optical fiber 7a, through the connection auxiliary member 3 and connecting member 6. At the connection between the optical waveguide chip 2a and the optical fiber 7a, a pressing member 8 which presses the connection continually is attached across the connection, and the optical waveguide exposed at the end of the optical wave guide chip 2a and the core of the optical fiber 7a exposed at the end of the aligning member 6 come into contact with each other.
