METHOD TO GIVE PHOTOCATALYST FUNCTION TO RECYCLED TILE

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method to form titanium oxide coating on a recycled tile which has a good hydrophilic property and a photocatalyst function. SOLUTION: On the surface of the un-glazed recycled tiles made of fired recycled tiles as main raw material, a glaze of 850-950 degree C softening temperature is coated and the coated recycled tiles are fired at 1,000-1,200 degree C to produce glazed recycled tiles. Water base sol of titanium oxide of PH 5-10 which contains as solid matter only titanium oxide of which 60-90% by weight is amorphous titanium oxide and the remaining is crystal titanium oxide is used to coat the surface of the above-mentioned glazed tile at the 100-400 mg/m2 of titanium oxide thickness and fired at 500-800 degree C.
