PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing an organic silver salt grainy composition in which organic silver salt agglomerates having a high water content are converted into a shape which is more easily handled than that of the agglomerates and to provide a heat developable photosensitive material using the composition and having stable photographic performance. SOLUTION: In the method for producing an organic silver salt grainy composition, organic silver salt agglomerates are crushed, e.g. using a disintegrating device with a screen 3 having plural holes and impellers rotatable along the shape of the screen in the screen, a disintegrating device with a rotatable cylindrical container and scraping blades capable of scraping along the inner wall of the container in the container or a vibrating screen machine.
