PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming device capable of preventing the damage of supplied paper in a retention space for separated oversupplied pieces of paper in the constitution having a paper separating part for separating plural pieces of paper by the winding up action of a roller. SOLUTION: When plural pieces of paper P are supplied, the paper separating part 3 winds up the plural pieces of paper P along the peripheral surface of a paper feeding roller 3a with the paper feeding roller 3a, a separating plate 3b, and a carrying auxiliary member 3d, and separates oversupplied pieces of paper other than a piece of paper coming in contact with the paper feeding roller 3a on the way of the winding up action. The retention space 11 is installed to retain the tip side of the separated oversupplied piece of paper, the tip side of the oversupplied piece of paper is separated and carried during the compression of the carrying auxiliary member 3d, and the tip side of the oversupplied piece of paper is made to fall according to the falling down of the carrying auxiliary member 3d to a shunting position. A wall surface 12 on the separation and carrying direction side is installed in the position facing the outer side of the retention space 11 than the longest reaching position on the separation and carrying direction side of the tip of the oversupplied piece of paper in the retention space 11.
