PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a liquid crystal display device in which a uniform cell gap is obtained without a problem of bubbles by pressure, vibration or shock when a flexible substrate is used, and to provide a device having a displaying function quipped with that liquid crystal display device. SOLUTION: In the liquid crystal display device having a liquid crystal cell having a sandwich structure of a liquid crystal held between a pair of substrates, the device is equipped with a means disposed outside of the liquid crystal cell to pressurize the liquid crystal cell and the device has such a structure that the pressure applied on the liquid crystal cell is gradually increased with time. The device having a displaying function is equipped with that liquid crystal display device.
