PURPOSE: To provide a sample warper which can control a conveyer belt transfer rate in response to the number of simultaneously warped yarns to eliminate the unevenness of the finished surface of the yarns wound on a warping drum, wherein the unevenness is caused by the change in the number of the simultaneously warped yarns, and to provide a method for warping. CONSTITUTION: This sample warper having plural yarn guides which are rotatably disposed on the side surface of a warping drum and is used for winding yarns on a conveyer belt moved on the warping drum at a prescribed transfer rate, a conveyer belt transfer means for controlling the conveyer belt transfer rate, a yarn selection means disposed at one end of a base supporting the warping drum, a leasing means disposed in parallel to the longitudinal direction of the warping drum, and a creel to which bobbins are set is characterized in that the transfer rate of the conveyer belt can be changed and controlled in response to the number of yarns to be simultaneously warped under preliminarily set warping conditions and warping design.
