SOLUTION: In a catalyst case 1, formed by erecting a slip-off preventing weir 3 for preventing slip-offs of welding burrs inside a joint surface P2 jointed to an exhaust manifold 4 by friction welding, a groove part 2 is formed between the joint surface P2 and the slip-off prevention weir 3, and the shape of the groove part 2 is set so that the depth L3 of the groove part 2 before friction welding, so that a groove width t3 so that the relation t3×L3>=t1×(L1+L2)×1/2 holds, in relation to a width t1 of the joint surface P2, the approach margin L1 in friction welding on the exhaust manifold 4 side, and the approach margin L2 in friction welding on the catalyst case 1 side.
