<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reliably vary the steering force in a steering device with the variable steering force. SOLUTION: This steering device comprises a worm shaft 2 turned as a steering wheel is operated, a piston 3 which is moved along the axial direction of the worm shaft 2 in an interlocking manner with the turn of the worm shaft 2 with a rack gear 5 formed thereon, and a sector shaft 6 with a sector gear 7 engaged with the rack gear 5 formed as a tapered gear. The position in the axial direction of the sector shaft 6, i.e., the engagement pressure of the rack gear 5 with the sector gear 7 is controlled according to the vehicle speed by a vehicle speed sensor 14, a stepper motor 12 for turning an adjustment screw 9, and an ECU 13 for determining the rotational phase of the adjustment screw 9.</p> |
