PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To flexibly accommodate piping diameters and sectional forms by arbitrarily setting the number of turns and turning form of a front/back-paired electrode plate 28. SOLUTION: An electrode valve 10 for an electroviscous fluid is so constructed that the front/back-paired electrode plate 28 with a three-layered structure wherein one sheetlike electrode deformable into an arbitrary form is used as each of a positive electrode 30 and a negative electrode 32 forming an electrode pair and an insulating sheet 34 is held therebetween, is rolled with constant arbitrary gap spaces into a cylindrical hollow roll electrode valve 38. The hollow roll electrode valve 38 is arranged in place in a piping part 18 of an actuator 12 filled with an electroviscous fluid as the working fluid.
