PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve operability of a walking type mower for carrying out a mowing operation on a ridge, a farm road, etc. SOLUTION: In this mower 1 in which a handlebar base part 32 a main body of a machine body consisting of an engine 11, a reaping part 2 and traveling wheels 17R/17L is equipped with a handlebar 30 rotatably in the right and left and vertical directions, the main body of the machine body itself is rotated around the handlebar lever 31 by the drive of the traveling wheels 17R/17L. The handlebar base part 32 is arranged ahead reaping blade driving shafts 12R/12L of the reaping part 2. A gage wheel 25 supporting the main body of the machine body is composed of a caster wheel. Power transmission mechanisms to the traveling wheels 17R/17L are installed at both sides of the machine body. The fitting part of the handlebar lever 31 is equipped with a stopper mechanism, the rotation of the handlebar 30 is restricted, reaping blades 13L/13L/13R/13R ahead the reaping part 2 are made not to face an operator side.
