PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a metallic golf club head having a face surface with comparatively low hardness for producing a soft hitting feeling and allowing an easy grip of a distance feeling especially in an approach shot and reducing reflection of light for comfortable use by a golfer. SOLUTION: In this metallic golf club head 1, a dark-colored oxide film 3 is formed without arranging any plated layer on the face surface 2, and its surface hardness is set to 300 Hv or less.
