PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a dust collector for an air exhaust duct of a new construction which realizes the efficient removal of dust from the air to be exhausted into the atmosphere after being forcibly guided in a specified direction through the air exhaust duct and to provide a novel dust collecting method using the duct collector. SOLUTION: This dust collector for the air exhaust duct is of such a construction that a tubular path part 3 for introduction which is of a tubular shape and can be connected to the terminal side of the air exhaust duct 7 and a jet nozzle 4 for jetting a sprayed water film is arranged horizontally almost at the axial center position of the tubular path part 3 and that the terminal on the air exhaust side f the tubular path part 3 is tightly and penetratingly connected through the outer peripheral wall face part toward the upper end side of a vertically cylindrical body 2 in such a manner that the connection is made tangentially with the outer peripheral wall face part. Further, the lower end side of the body 2 is diametrally reduced downward and an air exhaust and drainage port part 22 is formed at the lower end.
