PURPOSE: A vacuum cleaner of an upright type containing a cyclone collector is provided to collect foreign material and dust by dividing through a suction brush and to collect fine dust by preventing counterflow in collecting the dust. CONSTITUTION: A vacuum cleaner of an upright type having a cyclone collector comprises a first cyclone tank(210) having a cylinder shape by opening both ends; a second cyclone tank(220) arranged in the first cyclone; upper and lower caps(230,240) covering upper and lower portions of the first cyclone tank; plural air discharging pipes(251,252,253) interlocking a motor driving chamber between a collecting chamber and a suction brush; a protruded lip(211) preventing counterflow by having a circular shape; an air suction port installed on a side wall of the collecting chamber; a tube(231) interlocking with the air suction port; an inlet pipe(232) connected to the tube by being formed along an inner wall of the upper cap; a suction pipe(233) arranged in an upper side of the second cyclone tank; and a connecting pipe(241) interlocking with the air discharging pipe by being mounted in the lower cap.
