PURPOSE: A toothpick is provided to prevent a gap between a tooth and the gum from being widen due to the use of the toothpick, and to increase the life of use and the strength thereof. CONSTITUTION: The toothpick(1) is provided with frontal and rear jaw portions(2) formed at both ends thereof, and short and sharp conical shaped picks(3) formed at the tips of the frontal jaw portions. Since the picks are formed into a short and sharp conical form, the breakage of the pick is able to be effectively prevented as well as the food removal work of the toothpick is able to be successively performed. Also, since the jaw portion serves to prevent the toothpick from being fitted between a tooth and the gum, it is possible to prevent the expansion of a gap between the tooth and the gum.
