The scooter has a frame with a flexible sheet of metal (1) bolted (4) to it. The sheet metal sides have downward-turned flanges for stiffness and the ends are tapered and without flanges and are bent upwards. The fastening bolts pass through countersunk holes near the upturned rear portion (2). A thin flexible sheet (3) is fastened to the underside of the upturned end portion, and is pressed down onto the tire of the rear wheel when the rear portion of the flexible metal sheet is depressed by downward and rearward pressure applied by the user's foot.
