The invention relates to a nucleic acid sequence which does not occur in nature and contains a nucleotidic sequence of at least 8 nucleotides corresponding to a nucleotide sequence of the hepatitis C virus genome, where the sequence of at least 8 nucleotides is selected from the sequences of the NS5 region numbered 2, 4 ...6, 10...12, 14...16, 18...22, in the figure 2a ...2e, the sequence of the region 1 of the envelope, numbered 24...32 in figure 3, the sequence of the region 5'UT, numbered 34...39 and 41...51 in the figure 4a ...4d and sequences of the central core region numbered 52...57, 58 ...66 in the figure 5a ...5i. The invention also describes peptide encoded by the said nucleic acid sequence, capable of generating an immune reaction in a host, and used as an immunogen agent.
