A liquid crystal display device which does not require exclusive assembly marks or boxes or the like and is adapted to be accurately and easily assembled, comprising light sources (6) integrally fixed to a driving circuit substrate (5) having a driving circuit (4) mounted thereon for driving a liquid crystal display section (2), wherein the driving circuit substrate (5) is mechanically attached to a display substrate (3) by utilizing the operation of establishing an electric connection between the driving circuit substrate (5) and the display substrate (3). Since the light sources (6) are directly connected to the driving circuit substrate (5), no special member is required for holding the light sources (6). Further, since mechanical attachment of the driving circuit substrate (5) to the display substrate (3) is attained by the operation of establishing an electric connection between the driving circuit substrate (5) and the display substrate (3), no special assembling operation is necessary.
