PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a device for detecting the engine exhaust gas pressure of a fuel injection type or fuel direct injection type engine. SOLUTION: This probe 54 for detecting exhaust gas pressure in an exhaust line 106 of an engine 10 for a marine vessel during the operation of the engine comprises an elongate probe body 110 and an engine engaged assembly 112. The probe body comprises a cylindrical hollow member 114 and at least one opening 116. A cap 120 is fixed to an open end 122 of the cylindrical member of the probe to close the end part, and pellets 136 are arranged in the cylindrical member, that is, captured. The engine engaged assembly comprises a threaded part 124 and a tube connecting part 126.
