PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a synchronous machine which serves both as a magnet, that allows the factor of electromagnetic steel plate utilization to be enhanced, without degrading the capability to prevent excessive increase in generated voltage. SOLUTION: A rotor core 1210 is formed, by spirally wrapping and laminating band-shaped soft magnetic long plates in the axial direction. As a result, electromagnetic steel plates, normally employed for rotor cores, can be saved to reduce the quantities of used materials. Moreover, a magnetic pin (magnetically short- circuiting member) 1281, made of soft magnetic material penetrating the spirally wrapped soft magnetic long plates, forms a magnetic path short-circuiting the rotor core 1210 in the axial direction and further provides a function of binding the spirally wrapped soft magnetic long plates to prevent the plates from coming apart in the circumferential direction or axial direction.
