摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enlarge a compressed self-ignition combustible region while improving the performance of compressed self-ignition combustion in the case of using fuel of low cetane value such as gasoline. SOLUTION: Timing at which a combustion mass rate is 50% is defined as main combustion timingθ50, and a period in which the combustion mass rate is 20% to 50% is defined as a main combustion periodθ20-50. The combustion timing and combustion speed are controlled so that the main combustion timingθ50 is kept on the advance side of a specified delay limit and that the main combustion periodθ20-50 is kept between a specified first limit period and a specified second limit period. Thermal efficiency is thereby optimized, and combustion stability, hammering sound, knocking vibration, and the like are put in a compatible state.
