<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To allow a single or plural outer devices to perform access to the state of a target device, and to communication with the target device, and to control the target device. SOLUTION: A printer stores static state data such as identification information which is unchangeable throughout the life of the printer, and transmits the stored static state data to an outer device. The outer device detects the power ON of the printer, and receives the static state data stored in the printer such as the identification information which is unchangeable throughout the life of the printer from the printer. Thus, it is possible for the outer device to surely and automatically identify the printer.</p> |
