PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a heat exchanger wherein a piping space and an installation space are made compact and inlet and outlet pipes for a fluid are connected to header pipes in a concentrated manner, so that the operability of an operation of piping and maintenance can be improved. SOLUTION: A plurality of chambers are formed by division in the axial direction inside a header pipe 2, 32 communicating with inlets and outlets of a plurality of tubes 12, and inlet and outlet pipes 24 and 25 are connected to a closed end of the header pipe communicating with the chambers. In the heat exchanger 1 thus constituted, the inlet and outlet pipes are connected to one place of the header pipe.
