PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable optical wavelength converters, having an identical arrange ment for RZ/NRZ codes, to be usable without causing duty deterioration to be in generated waveform. SOLUTION: The optical wavelength converter for converting an optical signal of first light wavelength band into an optical signal of a second optical wavelength band comprises an optoelectric converter for converting an input optical signal into an electrical signal, an electrooptic converter for converting the electrical signal into an optical signal, and a duty control circuit section connected between the optoelectric converter and the electrooptic converter and controlling the duty of an electrical signal converted by the optoelectric converter, depending on RZ/NRZ signal information. |
