PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method capable of always inspecting a transparent container with high accuracy regardless of a change of transparency. SOLUTION: In the method for optically inspecting an at least partially transparent container B in an inspection range using a luminaire and a camera 11 for forming an image for the purpose of evaluation, the transparency of the container is ascertained and, next, a light field is constituted for the container and the intensity of light and/or image forming sensitivity of the light field is adapted to the ascertained transparency and the light field is moved through the inspection range as a running light field in synchronous relation to the container.
