PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve convenience by performing memory reception and direct reception in an energy saving mode. SOLUTION: At performing of reception in the energy saving mode (step S4), whether a mode at present is a mode 1 (memory reception mode) is judged (step S5), and in the case of the mode 1, a main power source 22 is turned on and the memory reception is started (step S6 and step S7). Then, a reception data flag is turned on, the main power source 22 is turned off, and the energy saving mode is restored (step S8 and step S9). When it is judged that it is a present mode 2 (direct reception mode) in a step S5, the main power source 22 is turned on, a heater is energized (step S10), the direct reception is performed, facsimile information is recorded and outputted (step S11), the main power source 22 is turned off, and the energy-saving mode is restored (step S9).
