PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain an elastic warp knitted fabric being a lightweight/thin cloth, having a burst strength and a tear strength at the level free from practical wearing and a high elongation. SOLUTION: This elastic warp knitted fabric is characterized in that the warp knitted fabric is constituted of an elastic yarn and an inelastic yarn, the ratio of the fineness of the elastic yarn to that of the inelastic yarn satisfies a formula (1) 20>=(the fineness of elastic yarn)/(the fineness of inelastic yarn)>=10...(1) and the fineness of the inelastic yarn is in a range of 20 dtex to 45 dtex. The fineness of the inelastic yarn is an average fineness of the inelastic yarn which forms a loop and is knitted among the inelastic yarns used.
