PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for forming an access point in a data stream of data with respect to the scene description of multimedia. SOLUTION: This invention relates to an area for the scene description of multimedia. A stream for the scene description in a conventional method includes coded data with respect to the scene description and coded data with respect to a scene change. The access point to the stream is provided, by which a user can enter the stream at any moment. The access point is formed by data with respect to a complete scene description. When the scene description is coded in this invention, a memory stores coded data arisen therefrom. The access point inserted to the stream is formed by the coded data stored in this memory. Thus, it is avoided to code a new scene description every time an access point is inserted into the stream. This invention is especially applicable to a BIFS(Binary Format for Scene) stream.
