PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a compression mold wherein the damage of a seal material is reduced, durability is excellent and the sealability of a cavity is high. SOLUTION: In the compression mold wherein a cavity C corresponding to the shape of a molded article is formed between a fixed mold 1 and a movable mold 2 at the time of mold clamping and a groove 11 is formed to at least one of the mating surfaces of the fixed mold 1 and the movable mold 2 so as to surround the cavity C and the seal material 12 cutting off the cavity C from the atmosphere is fitted in the groove 11, one end 12a of the seal material 12 is inserted in the groove up to the bottom part thereof without leaving a gap and the other end thereof is protruded from the groove and the protruded part 12b is formed into a saddle shape.
