PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an ink jet recorder which can output an image having high image quality and excellent water fastness at high speed with good color tone having no blur at the color boundary and excellent reproducibility of thin line. SOLUTION: The inventive ink jet recorder comprises means (20) for coating a recording medium with a preprocessing liquid, line scanning ink jet heads (36-39) for each of a plurality of colors arranged in the vertical scanning direction of image recording, and means (30) being carried, at a constant speed, in the vertical scanning direction and recording an image on the recording medium coated with the preprocessing liquid. |
