PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To extend the service life of electrode plates by decreasing an inrush current to the electrode plate when a power source is applied to an electrolytic water production device and a polarity of direct current voltage is switched. SOLUTION: The inside of a casing 11 of an electrolytic bath 10 of the electrolytic water production device is partitioned with a membrane 12 into two electrolytic rooms R1, R2, and both electrode plates 13, 14 arranged in respective electrolytic rooms are connected to a direct current source 30, and salt water passing through respective electrolytic rooms is electrolyzed with impressed direct current voltage to produce electrolytic water. A capacitor 33 is connected between both the electrode plates 13, 14. The capacitor 33 may be provided in the inside of the direct current power source 33. The electrolytic bath is preferably constituted so that the salt water in such a degree that portions of both the electrode plates are immersed remains in the casing 11, even that the salt water in the inside is discharged.
