摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To increase the rotation performance of a snowboard so that the range of behaviors and acrobatics which are characteristic of the snowboard can be enlarged, thus making a variety of movements possible, and allowing performances and acrobatics based on high techniques. SOLUTION: A warped gliding surface 8 between the top and tail of the board is formed to entirely project in its width direction toward the surface of snow, with the lower surface 4a of an edge 4 smoothly continuing with the projecting gliding surface 8. The board has an overall length of 900 to 1,100 mm, a maximum width of 250 to 300 mm, and a radius of curvature of 4,000 mm or more for the side curve of each side edge. Further, the projecting shape of the gliding surface is given by an arc having a radius of curvature of 1,500 to 2,400 mm. Although the board is likely to slip sideways, a skilled snowboarder using this characteristic of the board can make complicated movements and quick motions.
