PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an air conditioner for a railway rolling stock capable of properly controlling an indoor temperature in an objective temperature even after closing a door of the rolling stock. SOLUTION: Indoor air is sucked by an air blower 3, and is introduced to a compressor 2, and the air cooled by the compressor 2 is blown off into a car. The compressor 2 is operated and controlled at a prescribed operation rate in a prescribed control period by a compressor control part 14. The air blower 3 is controlled by an air blower control part 11, and is adjusted so that a suction air quantity of the air blower 3 becomes a predetermined suction air quantity in response to an outside air temperature outside of the car particularly when opening the door 9 of the railway rolling stock.
